Yeah….
So, about the whole “regular posting on Monday” thing? I really suck at this. Really, really suck. I guess that was obvious, as there was supposed to be a comic up here….. a few weeks ago? And even worse, there’s only one more strip for this story arc. The thing is, I don’t even have writer’s block. More like artist’s block, or more accurately artist dissatisfaction. Every time I’ve tried to draw this comic so far, I’ve started looking at it and hating it. I know I didn’t exactly claim that there would be quality artwork on this comic, but for myself, I need to work at this a bit. Ina’i is a seriously fickle muse. I’ve been doing some writing lately, but the art just isn’t happening. Seriously, you artists who put out your comics regularly inspite of everything? Especially you people who put them oiut more than once a week or everyday? How do you do this?
On top of that, we’re heading into finals season, and I’ve got three tests to study for, along with clinic work. This is my last semester of law school, and I really need to get through these to graduate in May. Really bad time to be worrying about putting up a comic. I really didn’t want to do this, especially when I haven’t actually finished this story arc, but I’m going on hiatus, at least until finals are over. After that…. we’ll see.
This does not mean that the comic is dying, or dead (seriously, after… 9? 10 strips? I know I can do better than that). It’s just napping for awhile. Right now, I’m not going to promise regular posting, even when I come back. I’m just not good at that. I’m going to give myself an official schedule again, because otherwise I may never put anything up again, but I’m going to put notices on Twitter, Facebook, and DeviantArt for each of them, just as I have been lately, so you’ll know when there’s something new up. I’m also considering putting up sketches or any other art I’m working on at times, if I can figure out a way to separate them from the actual comics. I’m really hoping to be able to go back to a regular schedule soon after finals, but I guess we’ll see how things turn out. All I can promise is: there is more to this story and this comic. I will be back.
Plus, Ina’i is the most contrary muse I have never met. She habitually gets me to work on art and writing at those times when I really need to be working on something else, so there’s a possibility that she’ll get this strip, and others, to flow out while I’m studying for finals. If that does happen, I’ll put them up, and let you know.
